    Default Biting?

I knew this would happen--my daughter has started really taking a chunk of nipple! She only really does it when she is tired but my God it burns! What is a good method to make her stop? I've explained to her that it hurts and she just smiles and does it anyway! What should I do to suppress her biting nature? I'll gladly accept any advice!

    Thanks a bunch

Patience, calm and consistency. When she bites, say "No biting, hurts mama" and immediately remove baby from the breast, put her down, and walk away for a few minutes. You can nurse her again in a few minutes if she is still hungry. This should eventually teach baby that biting results in the immediate end of fun nursing time.

Did she break the skin? Or are you simply sore?

This link covers healing broken skin: http://kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mother/nipplehealing/

Soreness should pass in a day or so. Make sure you vary your nursing positions.
