Thread: Preventing blocked ducts

    Default Preventing blocked ducts

I am having trouble with very regular blocked ducts in both breasts, but predominantly the left. My baby is 7 weeks old and this has started in the last two weeks but is now a daily occurrence. I've seen the health visitor, lactation consultant and breast feeding support and have been told I am doing the right things to remove the blockages. I cannot, however, get any advice on how to prevent the blockages, does anyone have any advice?

Studies have shown that taking a tablespoon a day of oral granular lecithin or a capsule of 1,200 mg lecithin capsule three to four times a day is helpful in preventing and treating plugged milk ducts.
