Default What do you think of this?

Particularly the part about not giving baby supplements/EBM when you are away.

I've seen that before Katie. I didn't like it. What do you think?

That was my thoughts also, when I first saw it. I think I came across it a few years ago and could not believe that the highly regarded Dr. Jack Newman would say such a thing. I had always thought that if baby was away from mom and was under 1 years old that they either needed EBM or formula supplementation. I also am a firm believer in BLS and neither of my children would have been well established enough on solids to do that.

However, what made me think of it and look it up again was my friend who has a 9 month old and is supplementing when at work because she can't/won't pump. Baby is being fed purees, a variety of them.

And so I was thinking that in her situation I might consider it...if baby was reverse cycling and eating enough food to be happy during the day.

But then, what do they drink?

    They could drink water.

I didn't like the suggestion of introducing solid foods earlier. I came across it when Lilah was refusing bottles and it wasn't really a comfort to me.
