Hello everyone, I'm new here!
I came on this forum because a lot of people have referred me here.
I have a baby girl 1 month old. Been breastfeeding her and been introducing formula because my nipple were sore, cracked, I had thrush, I have a infection in the right breast. Needed to see the GP yesterday for a swap to see what antibiotics I can have to heal this.
I used to breastfeed my baby by laying her on my tummy and me lay back on the couch and relaxing. my nipple has been better and see her making her way to the nipple and latched on very greatly. it's been a few days she have decided to refuse doing it that way and returned to holding her with my arms and holding my breast with my hand to make a C-shape to lead her to the breast and to be honest, it feels like burning when she suckles, and I just bare with the pain but I don't enjoy it that much. bad latching on?
She has a bit of posterior tongue tied and getting that fixed on the 22 of October.
I been having support from the midwife who specialized into breastfeeding and fel confident. I wanted to go on Friday for more support but I heard that they closed down the support in Bishop Auckland (Eng.) I was really sad to hear that news.
I do have help from the midwife but it's been a month now that I had her support and not sure what to do.. I feel like I'm constantly bothering her for help and needing to talk.
I came all the way this far and I don't plan on giving up. but i noticed as well as my breast getting engorged and she's not staying on very long. I wonder if I should jst express and leave it in bottles.
How can I try to get on latch on properly? I tried the rugby ball and she doesn't like it. and sometime at evening. she won't go on the breast at all and cry until exhaustion and give up and give her a formula bottle.
Midwife reccomended me to give her a bit of formula because I was so over tired, wimpy and not well.
Has anyone have had this problem?
I need some help. Thank you
