    Hello Ladies,
    I am back again.
for last 1 month i was doing EBF with pumping sometimes . Here I got one more problem. Weight gain is too slow. I am breast feeding 10-12 times. Baby sucks for long some 45 mins on an average. So almost the whole day my LO is at my breast.
Any idea what needs to be done?

    Thanks

    My LO weight details:
    on birth : 2.5 Kg
    after 1 month : 3.1 kg
    after 2 months : 3.9 kg(during this time i added formula with breast milk - 2 oz)
    after 3 months : 4.1 kg
Weight gain in 3rd month is negligible

    Thanks

that's not ounces, it's just fractions of lbs

    Thanks you.
Ok. NOW. I'd say his weight gain up until this point was fine. Basically your child was small to begin with and the weight gain in the
2nd month was inflated due to artifical feeding. You are basically looking for your baby to double their birth weight by the 6month point and for you that would be right at under 11lbs. Which is small but how small your child was to begin with needs to be taken into account. My neice is the same kind of baby. She only weighed 6lbs when born and at 7months she only weighs 13lbs. Which is LITTLE. But right on track in terms of pattern. Lets see where you are at the end of the three month period. In the meantime, all the old stand by questions apply. How many times a day are you feedng? How many wet diapers are you getting in a 24hour period? And is your child alert and meeting his milestones?

How did you get the weight the 3rd month? Bathroom scale or doctor's scale?

It's fractions of a lb Rebecca not oz. So he gained more than 4oz.

I was just asking about the scale because we get so many moms coming through here all freaked out after weighing their babies on the bathroom scale- not realizing that those things can be off significantly and that you need to always use the same scale as last time, blah, blah, blah...

My LO was always weighed on doctor's scale. as per the growth chart LO should be 12 lbs.
