My Hannah Ruth just turned 3 months old.
When she was born (C-section) she had to stay in the hospital an extra 2 days because she wasn't gaining weight (duh! My milk wasn't in) and became dehydrated. We had to supplement with formula for the first 2 weeks only and she's been exclusively breastfed since.
She was born 7lb 10oz. She's gained slowly but steadily until 2 weeks ago. 2 weeks ago she was 10lb 15.5oz. Last week she was 10lb 15oz. Today she is 10lb 14.5oz.
She eats until satisfied; she never cries. I nurse on demand whenever she starts acting remotely hungry. We always finish one side before moving on to the next. I have over 100oz. of EBM in the freezer so I know it's not a supply issue (well, I don't THINK it is, anyway).
There's no way we could get her to drink more to supplement after she nurses; she already spits up AT LEAST 6x after a feeding. She constantly smells like yogurt she spits up so much. Today she napped for 2.5 hours after eating and then spit up 3x as soon as she woke up. What? Shouldn't that have been digested?
She's been sleeping through the night since she was 4 weeks old.
She also started crawling about 2 weeks ago and she's ALL OVER the place! Could she just be burning too many calories?
I don't know if I should call the pediatrician or not. She's not due for a well visit until late September (4 month visit). I know he'll just suggest formulaWhat do I do to actually SOLVE this problem?
