Thread: The Power of Colostrum?

    Default The Power of Colostrum?

Upon my baby's birth, the doctor wants to start a low dose of antibiotic for 4 weeks to prevent infections of the urinary tract and/or kidneys due to a cystic kidney. I am reading so much about the antibiotic power of Colostrum. I'm also concerned about how the antibiotic may effect her getting all of my antibodies and goodness from those first few days of nursing. Has anyone had similar experience or imput?

    Welcome to the forum!

Antibiotics you take won't affect the amount of antibodies and prebiotics in your colostrum. These substances are not killed off by antibiotics, which target bacteria. Don't worry!
