Re: Is it normal?
Welcome to the forum!
After 6 weeks, it is normal for a breastfed baby to poop as little as one time per week. Breastmilk is so completely digested that there's little waste to excrete. Constipation is almost never, ever a problem for breastfed babies, and you don't want to even bother thinking about it as long as the poop remains soft. When my girls pooped once a week, we'd usually get a flood of soft poop that we called a "diaper buster".
Can you tell us more about the pain you're experiencing? Does it happen at the beginning of a feeding, after the baby has been nursing a while, at the end of a feeding, or after the feeding has concluded? Are your nipples misshapen (creased/wedged/asymmetrical/ shaped like new lipsticks) after the baby unlatches? Is the pain more of a stabbing or more of a burning? Do you notice that the nipple skin is blanched (turns white) after nursing?
Coolest thing my big girl said recently: "How can you tell the world is moving when you are standing on it?"
Coolest thing my little girl sang recently: "I love dat one-two pupples!"
