Thread: Question About Medication

    Default Question About Medication

I was wondering if it was safe to take a magnesium/calcium combined vitamin while breastfeeding? I am having terrible achy legs that are keeping me awake at night and this is the main solution that I have found that others say will help this.

It's fine. It's actually a way many working/pumping moms battle the drop in supply when AF arrives .

I took a chewable cal/mag while bfing at my midwifes recommendation. It can also help with the supply dip that occurs during your monthly cycle when it returns. Infant Risk is a great source of safety information while nursing/pregnant. They have a catalog of safe medicines, and should be able to provide guidance on most supplements as well.

It should be fine. I took a Ca-Mg supplement for a long time after a surgery. Lots of women take for dips in supply during their cycle.
