Tomorrow my baby boy turns one. And he has never had a drop of formula. I'm so proud because I stood up for him many times. When he was in NICU and the nurses were rolling their eyes because I insisted on giving expressed milk instead of formula. . . when he dropped to 3rd percentile, and instead of switching to formula, I had my breast milk fat/calorie content analyzed to prove my milk was higher calories than formula. . . when my mom suggested I just "get him off the boob". . . and with all the other "stuff" that goes along with breastfeeding. . . I stuck with it and did what I know in my heart is best for my little guy. I continued breastfeeding. And now at one year old, we are going to keep at it and see where it takes us!
I never thought I'd be here at one year! ! !
