My four month old has had diarrhea now for a month !
Innitially he did seem "sick" with a slight fever (just felt very warm), this lasted about 9-10 days and then he had a couple normal looking stools and then back to the diarrhea.
It's definatly diarrhea, it's just orange or green tinted water in his diaper where as before his poo had some consistancy to it.
His Ped's theary is that he had a virus which messed up his gut, and so he then became sensitive to something I'm eating due to the flora being messed up. Her reccomendation is pro-biotics and cutting foods I may have been eating a lot of and that are high on the allergen/sensitivity list. So Far I've cut wheat with no luck and cut back on dairy.
Is it really possible he could still be sensitive after a month? He was never sensitive before and had very normal stools. Sometimes green due to my OALD but this is different. I have to constantly use diaper cream as the fluid burns his bum!
I am hoping to hear from other BF'ing mom's with any experience with this...
I have a stool collection kit but it's memorial day weekend so I think I will have to re-collect a fresh sample which is hard because it soaks into the diaper immediatly.
Thanks for any advice, literally a month of diarrhea has me very concerned.
