Re: Is full breastfeeding still possible for us?
We finally got some money so I was able to get the domperidone. It does seem to have increased my supply- and I think if baby was nursing it would be more so. She is still extremely sleepy and with her heart meds is likely to be so for some time. I really want to do this but I'm getting exhausted trying to latch her to the breast, then giving her the bottle, then pumping, then repeating 2 hours later all day long. She latches on maybe 25% of the time and then she'll nurse 5 or 10 minutes, and not very vigorously at that. I tried the nipple shield again and that does help. I don't want to get frustrated with me or her but I am so exhausted and I'm beginning to dread pumping and feeding times. Any advice for getting a extremely sleepy baby to latch on and nurse actively?
