    Default Weight Gain and Growth

The clearest sign that baby is getting enough milk is when he or she is gaining and growing well. When baby is slow to gain, it may be a sign of a problem or it may just be what's normal for that baby.

On the other hand, some moms may be concerned that their babies are gaining too quickly and are overfed or overweight. In a baby who is exclusively breastfed for the six months, fast weight gain is unlikely to be a sign of a problem though.
