My husband is a stay at home dad and feeds our 2.4 month old little girl pumped breast milk as well as formula if he runs out of milk. He says that she eats well with the bottle, but he worries about overfeeding her because she will often cry when he takes the bottle away after about 2 or 3 oz to burp her he make her slow down to not choke. We use a wide nipple with a slow flow and he feeds her in a mostly upright position. He says sometimes she cries until he gives her more to eat so she ends up eating the 4 to 6 oz I've pumped plus 2 - 6 oz of formula during the 7 or 8 hours I'm at work. Do you think that's too much? She's growing normally and at her 2month checkup was 9lbs, 14 oz and the doctor was pleased. She just seems so much more satisfied, and calm after feeding on the breast and I feel bad that my husband doesn't have that "trick up his sleeve" when he's on duty.
