My baby just turned a year and I recently cut down to 2 breastfeeding sessions a day. Morning and night. In the past week everytime I nurse him this happens.... 10-20 minutes after I nurse, just on one side, I have a sharp pain originating in my nipple that radiates all the way up to my arm pit and encompassing my whole breast at times! It is extremely intense and is so painful it keeps me awake and I can't sleep through it. It does not happen when I pump, like when I am at work, just when nurse my son. What the heck? It lasts like 2-3 hours, then goes away like nothing happens and doesn't bother me until the next time I go to nurse! I have had plugged ducts and milk blisters before this is not it, and I have no infection signs going on,(fever, redness, swelling...), also and this may be too much information but I'm desperate...it doesn't look any different. My doctor doesn't think it is yeast but.... I am desperate and if this keeps up I don't know if I can continue nursing because it is so painful! Please help!!
