My third little one just turned one, and we've just come down with thrush. Now, instead of being able to treasure what will be my last few months of many, many, many as a nursing mother, I'm left battling yeast that won't budge and seems to make my LO miserable. Despite three weeks of nystatin for him and clotrimazole-betamethasone for me, we're making no progress. I thought it was fading, but now it's back with a fury. I'm just not sure what to do.
I've read lots about what else we could try (i.e. genetian violet, acidophilius), but I'm just not sure if it's possible now to make progress on this before he gradually weans...and I don't even know where to begin. (My DD self-weaned at 18 months, and my DS at 15 months.)
I'm so overwhelmed by this that I don't even know what I'm really asking. I guess it's hard for me to know how to approach this when it feels hopeless to me that we will win this battle before weaning.
