My girls have both been at the top of the charts for both height and weight, and my doc never recommended limiting nursing or early introduction of large quantities of solid foods. Both girls "leaned out" in the 6-12 month period, becoming skinnier while continuing to grow in height.
Are you spoon-feeding? If so, you might want to search the solids forum for info on "baby-led solids" or "baby-led weaning". It's a very different approach to solids which is very compatible with breastfeeding.
Coolest thing my big girl said recently: "How can you tell the world is moving when you are standing on it?"
Coolest thing my little girl sang recently: "I love dat one-two pupples!"
