Default Help with poor pumping output

My little guy is 7 months, and I went back to work fulltime this week. I've been pumping three times a day- 1030am, 1pm, and 330pm, and can only get 2.5-3oz each session.
Luckily, he has only been taking 8-9oz at daycare (he's there from 8am-430pm), but I have to work hard for every drop of it and am afraid that he may need more some days and I don't know where it's going to come from.
I have a PISA that my friend gave to me, which she used for 6 months with her son two years ago. Could the pump possibly be kaput? I know my supply is good, since before I went back I was exclusively nursing and keeping bubs satisfied, no problem.
I need some help troubleshooting. Should I get a new pump? I will if I have to, but don't want to spend the dough if that's not the problem.

Hi. Well 3 oz is actually above average output wise. Are you doing compressions when you pump? They can give the output a boost. Also make sure to check your valves and membranes, they are the pump part of your PISA and can't be stretch, torn or old. Otherwise make sure to drink lots of water and you may try oatmeal, fenugreek etc

with PP. most moms make 1 to 1.5 oz per hour of separation, which is exactly what baby should need

Breastfed babies rarely go over 4 oz at a sitting. And he is at the age you could have the daycare give some solids too.

Thanks, ladies. The reassurance is helpful! My membranes are new and I checked the valves, which look good. As of right now I send two 4oz bottles, and he has a a few oz's of fruits/veggies around noon time. This is working now- I was just afraid he would want more and I wouldn't have it.
I guess it was hard for me to fathom him only needing two bottles while I'm gone, since I was nursing exclusively before and he was nursing more often than that, but probably not taking 4oz at a time. It's different when you watch how much comes out rather than just feeding the babe until he's satisfied!

No, but I will! It will be nice to have something to read while I'm hooked up like a cow 3 times a day!
