I'm still doing 1x per day, but I'm seriously considering dropping it. I only worry cuz he's so small. Although I guess 3oz during the day would be the deciding factor... still debating

DD is on the small side too...that is why i am weary of weaning from the pump.... i have gone back and forth for weeks now. when i get home from work and unload my pumped milk into the fridge, and wash all my parts, i say "tomorrow i will only pump one time...but then i get to work, and its been 3 hours since i've nursed/pumped and i habitually walk to the bathroom with my noisy pump and do what i have been doing for the past 8 months....because deep down in my heart i know she needs it and will thrive on it, no matter how much i hate the sore nipples, heavy equipment, annoying clean up, wardrobe limitations, diet restrictions, etc etc etc

Is there any reason why you are limiting your diet? Just trying to see if there's anything we can make easier.

Do you have the right horn size? I know you've been pumping awhile, but if you have sore nipples, they might be too small. I know I was really frustrated that Medela only supplies one size with their pumps as if everyone will need them and wanted me to spend MORE money for bigger ones. But it helped alot.

Yeah, that makes me sooo irritated. It is like they supply the size that fits maybe 25% of moms or less on purpose, so 3-4 of women have to buy more sets. And there are one-size-fits-all brands out there....why can't Medela do that? I asked them why the Softfit ones only come in 24, and all I got was a thanks for your input response :rolleyes.

Personally, if it as all possible, I think they should make adjustable ones. While I was pumping alot, I liked one L and one XL. Now I like L, but my boobs are getting smaller and I can see myself eventually wanting a M again. Not to mention it would be helpful to change it as you finish up a session. I found the XL it was really hard to get all the milk right in the nipple out.

Oh and going back to the original point of that, I have small (A cup ) boobs. I thought to myself "oh the bigger sizes are for BIG chested women" nope! I was really stubborn at the time. I am so glad an LC let me try the different sizes.

I thoug the big ones were for big women too, and while I'm not an A, I'm sure not big. It helped with soreness to go up a size,then another, and then another.

Some moms love PumpinPals, but I really did not at all. But they are worth a try if you are persistently sore.

My LO is 10 months old. I am limiting my diet because she has a cow's protein intolerance I don't have sore nipples anymore, just in the beginning. I was just saying it was one thing that I had to overcome. I have nipples of steel now!! LoL

I had the PISA, and I too had to get the bigger shields after about 4 months of pumping. Wish I would have tried that earlier...amazed at the difference it made. I had to retire the pump though, when the front broke...the little piece that the tubing fits on broke off. Had to single pump for a day and then I got the Bailey Nurture 3...anyone else have that pump?? Its really quite amazing...the suction is much better, and I have read that people have used it for up to 4 kids for one year or more each time. My poor PISA was sounding a little rough and the suction...well, sucked! and I hadn't even used it for a whole year. There are a few weird things to get used to with the Bailey but I like it...and it was almost 100 dollars cheaper.

Hi ladies I have been so MIA lately. Little Dude is gong on 3 weeks of fighting ear infections, has had double conjunctivitis and is getting close to cutting his top teeth. It just breaks my heart to see him like this.

My supply has been all over the place as he has had good and bad nursing days. 1st pump today went soso, hopefully the next ones will be better. Got new shields on order and hoping that they will help with the soreness and possibly the dip in supply.

What brand do you have? I think the Yogi brand is much tastier than the Mother's Milk Tea. (although I used to crave both while I was building my supply )

I pumped for the first time today using my new Ameda Purely Yours. I'm sure I'll have questions soon! My LO is 9 weeks and we've EBF till now. Trying to build a supply for when I go back to work and LO goes to daycare

So either the dom is finally out of my system or AF is planning a trip my way. I had some cramps last night, so it wouldn't surprise me... Yesterday was 5 ounces down from the day before - first time I've gotten less than 4 ounces in one pump in a loooooong time...

Oh well, I've already made it past my 18-month goal... If it's not just AF and my supply stays lower I won't have to worry about feeling too full when I go down to 2 pumps...

Cutting back on pumping is harder than I thought it would be, too. Part of it is logistical (having to actually *pay attention* to the amount of time I'm pumping, trying to switch other meetings and commitments to switch pumping times, etc), but so much of it is psychological for me.

I've got the afternoon session down to 12-15 minutes, when I remember to watch the clock
