I am not afraid of ending up with a dangerous product that could make us sick, just a big bowl of ruined, yogurt flavored milk that didn't "take" because of temperature issues, etc., which is what has happened in the past. Honestly, I don't mind the runny texture of homemade yogurt, as long as it actually turns to yogurt. I've just had some issues keeping it warm enough overnight in my drafty, chilly old house to do its thing.
