Re: Not enough for tomorrow. :(
Yeah, the overfeeding thing is definitely some cause of the stress -- they always send home any food he doesn't eat, so technically I should have an extra bottle that can go back with him the next day (unfortunately they don't actually keep it in their fridge, they make you take it home, I'm guessing for liability purposes in case it goes bad? I always travel with several cooler packs now, haha). Right now he's eating all the bottles but so far they haven't had to call us and say they ran out of food -- there was one day last week where they thought they might have to call us and say they'd run out.
My DH sent a nice email to the center today, and they immediately called him to discuss it. Waiting to hear how that turns out. He always visits DS in the afternoons and came back today and said, "you sent 18 ounces today AND nursed him at lunch, and they only have one bottle left, which he'll eat this afternoon. They are DEFINITELY overfeeding him."
So yeah, mskalinin, he definitely should only need 4 3-oz. bottles which for a while I was able to provide nicely, with some padding even. And then today my pumping was surprisingly less than productive. But I'll be a pumping machine tonight and through the wee hours.
