Welcome and congratulations on the new baby! Is there anything you're doing differently, position-wise, at night? It may be that your daytime nursing position is less ideal than your nighttime one. I also suggest taking a look at this link on fast letdown and oversupply: http://www.aafp.org/afp/2001/0115/p302.html. It could explain the fussiness and the gassiness. If you see a lot of things that look familiar in that link, try the positioning tips first, and don't go near block feeding unless you are absolutely sure you have oversupply.
Pooping during a feeding is absolutely normal. For a lot of breastfed babies, input at the top of the digestive system stimlates output at the bottom end. It's actually a very positive, healthy sign that baby is getting plenty to eat.
