    Default Sick

If anyone can tell me what to take for my nasty cough specific brand. My throat hurts, i have phlegm, runny/congested nose, no fever. I read the sites but its all confusing. I am nursing DD around the clock, 7 months old. I have tried tea, honey, vicks, etc, but the cough is still their and I am waking everyone by coughing. Oh and I am eating cough drops and still no avail.

Elderberry tea helped me get through my last cold. I did that, zinc, echinacea, neti pot...I also did better after eating garlic (a couple cloves)

You could try this Herbally Yours Cough Remedy (source http://www.pitt.edu/~cjm6/sp99cough.html)
"It soothes an irritated throat and relieves chest congestion and phlegm. The bad news: it tastes terrible -- it really does -- but if you have a persistant cough, it's worth a try."

    1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
    1 Tablespoon honey
    1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
    2 Tablespoons water
Mix and take by the teaspoon.
