Default How many ounces should 5-month-old take?

DS has pretty much taken the same amount of bottles/ounces since he was a month old. The days I work, I drop him off around 8 and pick him up around 4-5. He usually takes 2, sometimes 3 4-oz bottles during this time. He weighs 14 lbs 11 oz. Is that about right for his age/size? Just seems like very little!!!!

That is the same amount my daughter took right up until she was a year old. It sounds good to me!
All over the world there exists in every society a small group of women who feel themselves strongly attracted to giving care to other women during pregnancy and childbirth. Failure to make use of this group of highly motivated people is regrettable and a sin against the principle of subsidiary. ~ Dr. Kloosterman, Chief of OB/GYN, Univ. of Amsterdam, Holland

DS will be 5 mo on the 28th. He does almost exactly that in a day. Drop off 745 pick up 515. 2-3 4 oz bottles in that time frame. He weighed 14# 3oz at his 4 month check up.

I thought it seemed like a small amount as well but I have read 1-1.5 oz/ hr you are away.

anywhere from 8oz to 13oz is appropriate for your little one. 1-1.5oz per hour you are gone. Can be less (my girls take 10oz generally during the 11hours I am gone).
