    Default Bubble Palate

After almost 6 weeks of pain I think I was able to determine what is going one.
Baby definetly has bubble palate, exactly like DH. Has anyone heard of this or know of bf positions that can make things better? Is it possible to nurse without pain, eventually? I can't seem to findny good resources on this. Thanks to anyone who point me in the right direction!

Is bubble palate just a really high palate? If it is it hurts like the blazes for a little while until the baby's mouth grows. But it then is no issue at all.
proud but exhausted working mammy to two high needs babies

    • my surprise baby: the one and only D-Man born 3 weeks late (5/5/08) at 9 lbs 14 oz and 21.5 inches, and
    • the shock H-Girl born about a week late (10/7/09) at 8lbs 15oz and 20.75 inches.

If I am here I am covered in baby (probably two) and fighting for control of the keyboard.

    Family beds are awesome

Wondering if you have PPD? Take the screening and see your doctor. You deserve to feel better.

Pain from a high palate is awful, but it does go away once the baby grows.

Yes, that's what it is. How long did it take for you to resolve?

For me it took about 5 months, but that's because I had really deep cracks that didn't heal until that point. (My LC said they were the "second worst" she had ever seen in her long career.) Once the cracks were gone, things got so much better! Since you're not cracked, I think you will have relief from the pain long before 5 months.
