My baby was born on 12/2/2011. she was premature and had to stay in the NICU for 1 month. I started pumping the following day. After I was discharged from the hospital I continued to pump faithfully every three hours. I also breastfed her once a day. Once i got her home she would not latch on so i stopped. That was 12/29/2011. Since i have stopped she has had a milk allergy to formula and has been constipated. I am more determined now to breastfeed her. Is this possible since I have not pumped for almost 2 weeks?

What you want is possible! Relactation- that is, getting your milk back- is very doable if you have the right equipment and are willing to put in the work. Getting your baby to take the breast and nurse is a little less certain- some mom/baby pairs are successful, some aren't. But you don't know unless you try. Here are some helpful links to get you started:

I suggest you immediately get your hands on a really good pump- a hospital grade rental, if possible- and start puping as frequently as possible. Try every 2 hours during the day and every 3 at night, or even more often.

It is most certainly doable. Read the articles mommal posted carefully, and make a plan for regular pumping that will fit into your life. Do you have access to a Lacation Consultant? And/Or A Local La leche League group? The consultant may be able to give you assistance in helping baby latch again, as may a LLL Leader, and a LLL group could give you support for what you are doing.

You may want to consider an at the breast supplementer as well, that can help baby start latching and nursing while still getting supplemental feedings while you build your supply back up.

The book Making More Milk is a great resource as well.
