What about just nursing on the one side and pumping enough off the other to avoid pain? You might not be able to do it at all feedings, but the more you just nurse on the one side, the more your supply on that side will compensate. 5-6 oz/ feeding is a lot for a baby that young. Do you think maybe he just wants to suck, but doesn't need that much milk? If you can get the supply undercontrol on your right side, that might make your lo more likely to nurse on it better since he won't be getting so much to deal with. My dd would only nurse on one side for months b/c she didn't like the strong letdown on the other side. I was a bit lopsided, but it worked. Her brother was tandem nursing, so he nursed on that side a few times a day.
