Hi ladies -

Due to a prior breast surgery I am unable to produce a full supply for my son and I supplement about 10 ounces a day of frozen donated breast milk.

Over Christmas we will be going on a trip and I will be away from a freezer for about 24-30 hours. I am planning on packing my frozen stash in a cooler lined with foil and newspaper, and using dry ice to keep it frozen. This is a method recommended for women who ship milk overnight.

I am curious if anyone has any experience with this. How long will the milk stay frozen in this fashion? Should I expect any "melting" or will it stay frozen solid?

Thank you!
