Default Scalding and freezing with Thrush

    Hello ladies:

I am still battling thrush so I haven't been pumping and storing. My main problem is that my stash is almost gone. I have recently heard that if I scald the milk it would kill the yeast, and it would be OK to freeze after that but I am terrified to do this because I don't want to risk re-infection with the pumped scalded milk. Any thoughts or comments? My baby is taking some solids now, but I want to keep sending her to her sitter with some of my milk. She is only 9 mo and I don't want to give her any cow's milk yet.

    Thanks in advance.

My pediatrician said that scalding didn't help kill yeast It seems like kellymom says it will though so it may be worth a try to you! I would probably chance it rather than introduce formula or cow's milk at 9 months, truthfully.
