    Default No more side-lying?

    Hi all,
DD is refuseing to nurse side-lying during the night and I'm so beat... any ideas? I should say that she has some congestion but has not had a cold and has been checked out. AND ever since I have returned to work she wants to nurse every hour which is ok except that my back is killing me.

Ear infection. That would stop my third from wanting to nurse laying down.

This, or congestion that is serious enough that baby can't breathe through their nose.

How old/Big? You can try other positions where you are side lying, but baby is more upright. Like lay on your side/back and sit baby up to nurse. Use your imagination - doesn't have to be a text book positon.

Also, you could try lying on your back -- when my LO is fussy and not wanting to nurse side-lying -- I've found that lying flat on my back, and propping him on top of me (in kind of a cradle hold) -- works well once you figure out how to prop up your arm with pillows
