Default So this should make me happy but.......

DS slept through the night for the first time last night from 8p to 6a. I know it should make me happy but it kinda makes me sad that he didn't need me. I am always tired and not fully awake for the night feeding but I enjoyed it. He was always snuggled more and ate like a little champ, then went right back to bed.

Plus I woke up about 30min before he did so full it hurt. I might try to pump before bed tonight and see if that helps and I can make it as long as he does. I had to do the pump and feed for the first time in over a month this morning.

My 9 month old slept 7 straight hours the other night. First time ever. And...it hasn't happened since. I guess what I'm saying is that babies are constantly changing things and your DS STTN may or may not be a permanent thing.
Yeah, I missed DD's nightwakings the other night when I woke up with a VERY full rock-hard breast.

Do not pump before bed. It will tell your body to make more milk. You can set an alarm and wake him to nurse if you want. Your body will adjust to him sttn in time.

Enjoy each day that brings you good rest. It's a gift, not a right.

yep... my LO slept 7 hours when she was about 2 or 3 months. just as i started to freak out about engorgement and supply, she turned 4 months and began waking up to feed every 2 to 3 hours at night again! she's 8 months and is still feeding through the night, although in longer stretches.

Yeah don't pump. If you wake up really uncomfortable you could hand express a little if you want but I wouldn't count on this as an end of an era or anything. My daughter went without nursing during the night about 5 times total before she was 27 mos and we initiated night weaning.
Nursed my sweet daughter 3 years, 3 mos.
