    Default PLEASE HELP - frustrated

I'm getting to a point where I don't know what to do.

This is the 3rd time baby has refused to eat before bed time.

Here is his basic schedule that he has created for himself. He's 6 MONTHS.

Wake around 6 or 630 am - it ranges
    Nurse
Nap from about 830 am or so until 10 or so
    Nurse
    Sometimes nap sometimes nurse again
but generally sleep between 12 and 1 until 2 or 3
    Nurse at 3
    Nap again
    Nurse between 5 and 6
    Sleep between 630 and 7
He will wake in the night around 3 or 4 to nurse again (he's only made it 7 to 6 am once or twice)

In general, we have offered him solids for breakfast after nursing as well as after dinner for nursing. It's hit or miss. Sometimes he wants it, sometimes he doesn't. But he's really excited to try.

So tonight, he nursed around 3 pm. Took a nap. Woke up. Wouldn't nurse again. By 7 pm, he was exhausted. He's now asleep.

I know he will wake again in just a little bit and probably eat. But, what other options did I have? Should I have given him solids?

    I have a slow let-down these days.
I kept moving him from side to side to try to encourage the let down.
He bit me - that was not a nice moment.
    My period started today.
I have a horrible sore throat.

My husband really wanted me to give him the solids. I refused.

    Was I wrong?
    What would you do?

    Please help me.

hi there. as long as he is getting enough over the 24 hour period i would not worry. is his diaper output still good? if yes i would not worry. solids really are just for exploration before 1 year, no need to push it.

my lo started drinking less for a couple of weeks and then picked up again. he always nurses to sleep as a form of comfort more than anything else.

how do you get your lo to sleep? has he just been passing out for 3 days? maybe he is just exhausted.

He always nurses "for dinner" then tries some solids. Then we play, bath, play and nurse again. He does not fall asleep at the breast. He doesn't even like to be rocked So, after he nurses that last time, we just tell him "night night," put him in his crib, and he's asleep. He's been like that since he was just over 3 months.

Thank you for easing my mind about your LO's drinking less.

I would trust your baby to let you know that he's hungry. He may be a little under the weather (from your sore throat, sounds like you are!). Your letdowns may be a little slower and your supply a little lower because of your period. But if his diaper output is good and he's happy, then I wouldn't worry. Babies, just like all of us, have "off" days. I would just keep an eye on him over the next few days. He may be popping a tooth or coming down with a cold.

I pray it's not another tooth - he just popped tooth 8 out yesterday. Thank you for your kind words. Trying to go with it.
