    Default Hair loss from nursing?

Has anyone else experienced any hair loss post-partum?

My dd is 6 months, and since she turned three months, I have been shedding much more hair than my two cats!

I have extremely thick, naturally curly hair (normally), but these days, it's pretty thin. It comes out in handfuls in the shower. I wonder - how long is this going to last?

I've heard of this happening, but I wondered if perhaps I'm not getting enough nutrients? I'm still taking my prenatals and have a healthy diet.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated!

This happened with my older DD and I was told it is a post-partum thing, not just nursing. We get the thicker hair while pg, then it falls out...

I had the exact same thing happen with my two previous children. With my newest one Cole I haven't experienced any hairloss but I'm sure in time it will come. But hairloss is definately a postpartum thing.

This is a typical pp thing like the other posters said. I would also recommend having thyroid levels checked as excessive hair loss is a symptom of hypothyroidism.
