    Default Ow ow ow

    PMS and breastfeeding sucks.

First the supply dip, and now every time he nurses it literally feels like his mouth is sandpaper. Is there anything I can do about this? Or just wait?

Your thread title and first sentence cracked me up!!! So much sympathy! I hated nursing while PMSing (and now I'm a few weeks pregnant and it's like that all the time ). But it's only a few days a month. I just took deep breaths and told myself it was only a day or two and tried to remember how much I love nursing the rest of the month. Sorry, I wish I had something better than that.

It's brand new!! I'm only five weeks. Thanks, though!

Some mamas use lanolin ointment during PMS, but I didn't find that made too big a difference. I just grin and bear it.

Me too. I agree PMS sucks. I haven't found a method that works to alleviate the pain. G's older though so I usually cut his sessions a bit short that week.

    And congrats!

Since everything that goes on during PMS is based on hormones, there really isn't much that can be done to alleviate the pain. Sorry, momma. I know the feeling all too well. Maybe try some lanolin or Motherlove Nipple Cream. I hope it passes quickly.
