Default Do I sterilise it every time?

My breast pump. Do I sterilise this after EVERY use or can I just wash it with really hot water and washing up liquid and sterilise once or twice a day/
Also, bottles. Do I sterilise each bottle after every feed or can I just wash with hot water ect.

My baby is 5 weeks old.

    Thanks.

It depends if your child has immunity issues.
I sterilize everything when I purchase it and don't sterilize again. But I have healthy babies and they haven't been sick, haven't had thrush, etc. I use my pump at work for 10 hours and keep at room temperature, then I either bring home to wash in hot soapy water (or dishwasher) or I use a microwave sterilizing bag and air dry. i do at least wash in hot soapy water once a week.
Bottles are washed in hot soapy water or dishwasher after each use. sterilized only when brand new.

I pump twice a day at work and rinse my parts of the first time and wash with soap the second time. Usually sterilize in the microwave on the weekends.

Some moms just put their parts in the refrigerator between uses and wash every few days.

I pump 3x during the day, toss the parts in the fridge in between and wash with soap and water at night. I dont sterilize, there is really no need with a healthy full term infant.

This is what I did when I was pumping for DS1. But I was pumping about 8x's per day.
