    Default Bottles never dry

    Hi All

These are odd questions but I am a first time mother and worry about everything!

I am returning to work soon and have just started pumping. I purchased Dr.Brown bottles because I was told they are great.

However when they are drying on a rack, they fail to dry. Days they sit and water beads are still all over the inside of the bottles. I shake them daily as well.

The Dr.Brown customer service rep says that it maybe because I use a steamer prior to drying.

    So my questions are...

Do I have to wait till they are dry to use? If they never dry how can I store them? If they sit for a week drying are the bottles at risk of mold?

Thank you for reading this and I hope someone can give me some tips.

Silly question, but are you drying them with the bottle opening up or down? If the opening is down, the water may be unable to evaporate up and out, and may be re-condensing on the inside of the bottles...

I did one with the open side up and the rest down as a test. The open side dried in three, while the others I am still waiting on. So its okay to dry them open side up? Is three days too long? I really do thank you for replying to my thread. I know I sound crazy, but i seem to worry way too much.

Are you using a drying rack? I had Dr. Brown Bottles and never had a problem with them drying. I mean some may have taken a litlle longer than others, but never that long. Sometimes I would shake the bottles to get the most of the moisture out and then put them on the rack to get them to dry faster.

Also I shake them daily. The other bottles we have dry quickly using the same rack.

Just out of curiousity, what's the temp/humidity in your house? Maybe that has somethign to do with it. I live in a hot/humid environment (though obviously it's regulated inside the house) and I didn't have this problem but I used Medela and Lansinoh bottles. Also, I noticed that they dried a bunch faster if they were washed and rinces in very hot water.

humidity was always an issue for us. Very hot rinse and glass bottles were the only things that worked to get a prompt drying time.
