It's been a long time since I've been here (my kids are 4 and almost 3 now!), and I hope this is okay (mods, I won't be offended if you want to move this somewhere else), but I've been following the story of a little girl named Anaya with Krabbe Leukodystrophy...she is dependent on breast milk for all its life-giving qualities as she battles this debilitating illness. I don't know which milk bank her mom usesbut I'm sure her momma would be happy to tell you if you contact them. She has already lived far longer than the doctors told them she would, and I know that the graciously donated EBM has been a part of that miracle.

Thank you Iryssa for posting this story about Anaya. I started reading her moms blog and could not hold back my tears. This beautiful little girl, god has sent her to this world and yet let her suffer in this manner.

Any lll mommies reading this, pls lend a helping hand in any ways to this family in their journey to heal Anaya. God blessed.

I know this is a year late, but wow to the family of little Anaya. They were the best support and source of love for such a beautiful little girl. I was in tears reading her story - life can be so unfair sometimes.

I am always so touched when hearing of similar stories. I work in a kids hospital and we have huge neurology and hematology departments so see a lot of children with leukemia and similar conditions as Anaya had - it's always heartbreaking when it's time for God to take one of them back. However, on a positive note I always feel admiration for the parents and siblings of these kids we lose to these horrible diseases - they are so strong, courageous and there is so much love pouring out of them even in the face of losing their child/brother/sister. We can see the true and wonderful things humans can really be through the hardest of situations. It also makes me so grateful I have been blessed with two beautiful and healthly little children and hope to God they stay that way to grow up and become wonderful caring and loving adults
