    Default Help for a friend!

I feel like I've been out of the game too long to help

I have a friend with a 1 month old baby that she is EPing for. He is on zantac for reflux, does not have that pyloric stenosis or whatever it is called/spelled. She has been off diary for 2 weeks. She said her son spits up anywhere from .5 oz to 4 oz at a time and spits up often, and is really fussy. His poops are fine and his weight gain is fine.
Any thoughts or advice I could pass along??

    Check the Zantac dose.

Try something else. Or add in a second drug. Logan needed two meds to control his reflux.

Try nursing...then he doesn't get a lot of milk all at once and spit it all back up but can just nurse as needed to help control the reflux.

Some babies are just crabby. Baby wearing might help.

Remind her it takes 6 weeks for dairy to clear HIS system. And to keep him upright after feedings as much as possible.

I agree with trying another med... Zantac didn't help MJ at all, but Prilosec did the trick.
