    Default Twiddling While Nursing

My 10 month old recently started trying to twiddle with my other nipple when he's nursing. Has anyone else experienced this?

Although I haven't experienced this exact situation myself, I have heard of this. My baby is 6 months old and he rubs the breast he is feeding off of while eating.

My dd doesn't twiddle my other nipple, but she does twiddle the hook on my brastrap on the breast she is feeding on...and I have heard about the twiddling of the nipple! I dont think you are alone.

The squeezing of the other breast is actually instinctual. They figure out that by squeezing it they stimulate the supply and don't have to wait as long for a letdown on the other side when they get there! They are so smart!!

Yup, my DS does this when we're lying down to nurse.

    Yes!

I have recently discovered that if I give her something else to fiddle with, she won't do it.

DD pops off the nipples she's feeding from....twiddles it for a little (pincer practice!)...then pops back on.

Good idea! I've done the same with mine while he's awake. However, my DS has gotten so used to doing it that he does it in his sleep now! Not sure how to break that one!

My daughter slaps me with her one hand while squeezing her "meal" with the other. other times she plays with my hair (much nicer than slapping!).
