Default Which bottle gives the least confusion?

My little girl was born at 28 weeks and is now 33 weeks corrected and 3.8 lbs. She is still in SCBU and I visit for 2 feeds per day. I offer the breast, she latches on well for a couple of seconds and then slips off. I then offer the bottle and she guzzles it down!

I am aware that she needs to gain weight so don't want to make bottlefeeding unnecessarily difficult for her but am looking for recommendations for bottles that are as much like the breast as possible and will maybe help the transition? The ones we use in the hospital are ones supplied by a formula company and are a standard narrow teat.

is she drinking your milk from the bottle? Use the slowest flow nipple you can get. I like Breastflow bottles because baby has to work in the same way as BF to get the milk out.

Ask for a Haberman, as you can use it to change the flow rate while feeding and reward her for suckling at all. A breastflow is also a thought.

Thanks, ladies. I had considered the breastflow. I hadn't considered the Haberman as my impression was that it was good for babies who wouldn't take a bottle but she takes a bottle no problem. Had not considered the SNS as I thought it looked a bit fiddly but may give it a try.
Nurses here ( Ireland( have suggested the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature teat. Do you have that one in the US? Has anyone tried it?

Habermans are used for babies who cannot eat from a bottle, but they are also used for babies who can suck from a bottle but maybe are not very effective at it or just need to get more milk in with less effort so they have more calories for growing instead of using them for eating.

Yes, we have Tommee Tippee bottles here, but I have not tried them. They were not available when I last had a baby who could use a regular bottle (or I probably would have tried them, as that kid hated all bottles!)

April, I had a boy like that too! I had a cupboard full of "failed" bottles! I see you have four boys too, so do I and dd is my first girl. The other three boys were very obliging in switching between breast and bottle with no complaints. So ds3 was my stubborn bottle-refuser and looks like dd is becoming a breast refuser unless I can persuade her otherwise!
