Hands on help with qualified LC. I had a very bad latch, and with the pillow, proper positioning and a footstool to raise my legs up high enough really helped. Good latch means no pain. Unless it's thrush like other PPs have suggested. Also it took us about 7 weeks to get going really well with bfing and then another few months to get DD off her nursing pillow. So even when bfing is going well latch wise there will always be challenges. Lots of other moms on here will agree that just becuase bfing is natural, it doesn't come naturally! Keep up your hard work!
