Default You think you're having a bad day?

After an all-night nurse-a-thon last night, I was fantasizing about night-weaning as I shaved my legs this morning. Well, I must have pissed off the goddess of breastfeeding or something, because the next thing I know, the razor slipped out my hand and slit me on, yes, my nipple. For those who don't know, I nurse off of only one breast and it was indeed that breast that felt the wrath of my little blue Venus.

(Don't even bother trying to imagine how it is possible to cut your nipple while shaving your legs. It is pretty improbable.)

I put off DD's next feeding a little bit to give myself a little time to heal, and it didn't bother either of us, fortunately. It is a little irritated now, though. A bit of Neosporin should be okay to use, right? I tried putting a band-aid on it, but that didn't feel good at all. Should I just treat it like I would a cracked nipple?

Wow that does sound like a bad day
The info on this page might help, it says its ok to try these measures if the skin on nipple is broken "for any reason"

I think treating it like a cracked nipple would be best. Use lanolin.

Bacitracin or Neosporin should be fine. I would definitely use lanolin as well.

So sorry about your awful day! It's always on days when you're exhausted that things like this happen.
Coolest thing my big girl said recently: "How can you tell the world is moving when you are standing on it?"
