Thread: Relactating.

    Default Relactating.

My daughter is 3 months old and I am interested in relacting for her. She wouldn't latch after birth and caused a lot of stress on both of us and I couldn't take the pump anymore. It was exhausting and I am sad I gave up when I did. So we are going to attempt again.

Anyone do this before? What was your experience? I bought Fenugreek and Milk Thistle. Is there anything else I need? I got her to suck 2x yesterday but nothing more.

Welcome! Relactatng is totally possible. Getting the baby to latch on and suck and getting the herbs are terrific first steps. I suggest also breaking out that (d@mn) pump again, since nothing is going to get your milk supply going better than frequent stimulation. And once the milk is there, your baby is going to be more interested in the breast and more likely to spend time there actually nursing and stimulating an even better supply.
Coolest thing my big girl said recently: "How can you tell the world is moving when you are standing on it?"
