Okay....so I'm day weaning my DS because I'm going back to work at the end of August and he's never taken a bottle. I've changed his schedule so we nurse when he wakes up and again around the time I will be getting back from work (about 3). Not too bad since we only had to give up one feeding. In addition to cutting back one feeding, he seems to have gotten really fast at nursing, something I know is normal for older babies (he's thirteen months old). He has also started eating a lot more solids than he had in the past.
This is where my stupid question comes in: Can breastmilk ever just dry up without you knowing? I don't pump anymore (I only did for DS's cereal which I now give him with cow's milk), and with taking out that feeding, he's not peeing as much as he used to, although I do think he's still wetting and pooping within the norm. Sometimes I feel like he's only really comfort nursing. I'm just wondering for my own piece of mind since things in our world have changed so much all of a sudden.
Thanks! I'm a first-time mom and I don't know anybody who has nursed this long or in this fashion, so I don't really have anybody else to ask.
