I have a few questions. My son is struggling to gain weight. First he had tongue tie and then when we got that fixed I flipped into oversupply. Currently I pump the foremilk before he eats. This has helped. But I do pump to give him bottles every third feeding (my husband thinks I am starving him)and I feel like this is actually hindering our progress.
1st question, is pumping encouraging the over supply? It seems to be getting worse.
2nd question, if I block feed is this something I need to do until the supply levels off or will I just need to plan on continuing this until he weans? How will I know if my supply has leveled off?
3rd question, my son is now 14 weeks, should I start block feeding at 3 hours and work my way up? He goes 2-3 hours between feedings during the day but clusterfeeds in the morning and night. Also, should I continue to pump the foremilk every feeding?
