    Default Gentian violet for thrush?

    We are batteling thrush AGAIN! Argh! Has anyone had success w/ gentian violet? How did you use it? Thanks!

    I haven't tried gentian violet for thrush but yogurt applied to my baboes tongue once a day worked in a week to clear it up.

    I have not personally used gentian violet, but have known others to have success with it. However, I would not personally use it because of the new finds that it could be linked to cancer. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Plus, it's a huge mess and not worth the trouble, again, just my opinion though. Good luck!

    I've used it. It's very effective for most cases of thrush. I had pain relief after a day of using it. Yes, it's messy, but it washes out of clothes easily and comes off skin in a couple of days.

    And the best part, is the cute purple baby you end up with

    (Most babies don't get this purple, btw. Julian had been nursing all night and rubbing his face all over my nipples! LOL)
