My daughter is 5 weeks old, and has had a healthy weight gain (now 10.5 pounds, was 8 pounds at birth). I have exclusively breast fed her and a lactation consultant has confirmed my supply is good.

Trouble is, the latch has ALWAYS been quite painful at nipples. Nipples always have compression line and "lipstick" shape after nursing. Five lactation consultants have looked at latch and said it looks perfect from outside. However fifth lactation consultant noticed posterior tongue and three weeks ago I had it clipped. The pain has not gone away, if anything it has gotten worse. She noticed that baby is still slightly tongue tied and recommends second frenulotomy.

Has anyone heard of this? Or has other recommendations to improve latch? Thanks!
