    Default Rash on the breast?

I have a really itchy rash on one of my breast, just got it last night. Its not on the nipple, its just below the areola on one breast. Its about a size of a dime, and its bumpy, red and itchy.
Any ideas what this could be? Help, help...
Little one is 13 months, nursing like a pro, although he has been extremely cranky all day today, but I do not think its related.
    TIA!

Ring worm? I had that a few weeks ago. Super itchy. I sprayed lotrimin or some other athlete's foot spray on and it went away quickly. However, now we have thrush and I'm not sure if they're related.

Ringworm was my first thought too. It causes an itchy, usually circular rash, sometimes in a "ring" but not always. It's not actually a worm, it's a fungal infection. Very common. My DH gets it on his chest now and then, and lotrimin always clears it up.

Jut came back from the doctor - they seem to believe that its just chafing kind of thing, because of my kidlet having a sloppy latch now and snacking often throughout the day... <sigh>
I am not weaning him of course. How do you convince a toddler to latch on better?
