    Default repeated blocked ducts

LOL I feel like its just one thing after another! And with these blocked ducts, thats what its like. I just get one cleared up and then I get another one. And its not always the same spot or same side. Its not that bad, just annoying, I get red streaks, a lump (like a pea inside) and feel bruised, and hurts some to nurse, but then that goes away within a few days.

I have tried all the usual treatments for it- rest, massage, heat, different positions to nurse, etc. and really I just have to wait- time takes it away it seems.

Any ideas why this keeps happening? My LO is 8 months and her latch is fine, etc.

How long do you go between BFing sessions? Could it be something you've worn, like a restrictive bra? (If I wear an underwire or sports bra for very long I usually get plugged ducts.) Do you empty the first breast at each feeding before switching sides?
These are just a few things to consider. I'm pretty susceptible to plugged ducts too.

Hmmm...maybe it does have something to do with how sometimes my DD eats a lot, and then other days, she goes longer between feeds. Just what she does- not me changing it. I can't think of other reasons like bras or things like that. I guess then there's nothing I can do about if it happens because DD spaces her eating differently sometimes?

    Hi Nola,

I am new to this site. I am having the same problem with my daughter. She will be three months tomorrow and I feel like once one blockage clears a new one is in the works. I am so furstrated and I cannot figure out what the cause is. If you get any good advice please let me know. I have done all of the massage, heat, position etc....

    Thanks....
