Default Olive oil added to babyfood, How Much?

It was mentioned on an earlier post I could add olive oil to LO's low calorie babyfood. I was wandering how much to a 4oz jar or if I steam some veggies if I could do this also? This is to help with low weight. Peds wants me to use formula and being threatening, Tried to get new peds, but they are only taking newborns in my area. He has plenty of wets and poops and his growth has been steady. He's just very active. He'll be 9mths in a few days and has been crawling and standing for about 2 mths now. He goes everywhere to chase his big brother. Also giving him cheese, meat, and beans.

Just to answer your main question, it's not going to hurt to add olive oil to the food, I'd probably add about as much as YOU would want to eat on it.

You definitely don't need to limit fats, other good fattening foods would be avocado, full fat yogurt, cheese, and (if you are comfortable) peanut butter or almond butter.

And in the meantime I would continue to look for other pedis

what were your doctors threatening to do? My DD was below the charts, and her pedi reccomended loads of things, including weaning. Almost a year later she in again on the chart, the bottom 1% but on. We didnt wean, but I did add butter and olive oil to her foods...

Sorry didn't reply sooner, Peds threatened I'd either use formula or take to GI specialist for failure to thrive test. So he goes in May for the test. I have been giving him olive oil, cheese, meat and some butter in his food. Thankfully he's not a picky eater. He eats all the time, either from me BFing or babyfood or what I make for diner ran throught he masher or stuff he can feed himself. He's very happy and energetic and plenty of wets and poos, so I'll keep looking for a different Peds.
